I always thought that when the nice weather arrived, I would get more done on the cobra. Sadly this has not been true. Progress has been slow this month with little to show for my efforts.
2 weeks ago I wired up the oil pressure sender and oil pressure warning light sender as well as the distributor. These have all been sleeved in stainless braiding and routed just in front of the transmission tunnel.

I can now fit the transmission tunnel and I have started to fit the necessary sealing strip. Whilst doing this I noticed that the clutch slave will be very difficult to bleed once the cover is fitted so I have decided to fit a circular inspection hatch next to the slave cylinder. I have had to order a 114mm hole cutter to make the hatch which should be here in the next few days.
The wheels were finished by Image last week. I picked them up on my way home from work, took bloody hours due to the M1 being blocked by an accident.
I have bled the brakes before fitting them, a most unpleasant job.
They have transformed the car and the picture below doesn't do them justice.

My internal boot hinges have also arrived from Andy Hatton of Dax. He kindly sent me an 8" section of boot lid which makes fitting them much easier as you can actually get to the mounting points. (God knows how you would do it without this special lid) but the final fettle will be after I have fitted the boot seal and my full boot lid.
The stainless saddle for the lower radiator tube has come back from the polishers. This is still to be finally fitted but should be a quick job.
The final job of the weekend was to trial fit the stainless header tank that started off as an AK tank but has undergone major surgery. Unfortunately the pipe that has recently be modified is in the wrong place so needs to be moved again. I have also made a prototype of the inlet I need which hopefully can be made at the same time as the pipe modification. The header tank is one of those bits I wish I had never started but its getting close now.
