My washer bottle turned up on Monday so 1st job was to fit it.
I have been away this weekend but last thursday I had a day off and managed to spend a short time in the garage My washer bottle turned up on Monday so 1st job was to fit it. Having fitted the washer bottle, 1 was now able to fit the heater at last. I have fitted it the opposite way around to that recommended by Dax as it suits my heater hose routing better. I then fitted one heater hose and the fuel hose from regulator to in line fuel filter. Finally, I fitted the water temp sender and ran the wire to it down the stainless tube under the spark plug lead carrier.

My delivery of Speedflow hoses and connectors arrived on Friday so in-between sorting out the garden I have sneaked into the garage and stated to fit them. First job was to drill holes in the firewall for the heater hose bulkhead fittings. This was followed by the trial fitting of one of the heater hoses. Below is the view from behind the dash Next was the fitting of the fuel hose from the pressure regulator to the inline filter. I had ordered a straight connector but upon try out a 45 degree connector was clearly needed . More expense and waiting I then started the connection of the brake fluid reservoir to the 2 master cylinders I then fitted the hose between the clutch master and slave Finally I fitted the revotec fan temperature controller have finished off the 3 way super seal connector that connected it to the forward harness.
This weekend has been a mixed bag of jobs. It started with me fitting the side repeaters. I have been pondering over where to fit them for more than a year now, but my mind was made up when I saw the XCS Cobra last weekend at Stoneleigh. I wanted to use small side repeaters to try and minimise the visual impact. Next I fitted the brake fluid reservoir. I need to put a detachable connector on the level sensor harness as the harness rotates when you undo the cap. This entailed drilling a hole through the steel bulkhead which is always fun. I then fitted my MSD 6AL unit after I had finished off tidying up the wire harnesses. Made the connection to the coil. Next was the fitting of the lower rad pipe and hoses after I got the remaining hose clamps I needed. The are actually exhaust clamps but the are beatifully made .... and priced accordingly. Final job of the day was to cut the hole in the bodywork for the near side exhaust collector. Quite nerve racking in case you make the hole too big.
I now need to decide if I will fit a stainless escutcheon around the pipe or not. Current thinking is yes No work done on the car this weekend I'm afraid. Only news is I got my brake fluid reservoir back from the polishers last week. Ian from Flash Customs had done a great job in making the tank but I was convinced it could be even more shiny !!!! I am very pleased with the stainless cap that incorporates a levelness sensor. The slight pitting around the weld on the cap will be cover by the IVA brake fluid sticker !!! Hope to fit it next weekend and with any luck, some other shiny bits may be back by then.
