I spent a few hours in the garage this weekend doing bits and bobs.
I started off by deciding where my reflectors are going to go. Strange you may say but I need to get a small bracket welded on the nudge bar to hold them so I want to be ready if the opportunity arises to get some welding done....which it may do as I want to get my exhaust outlets made less dangerous by having a 5mm bar welded around the edge.

I then fitted the roll bar escutcheons that I had made by Flash Customs about a year ago. They are much thicker than the Dax ones and will be bolted on rather than riveted.
I then spent ages trying to finalise the switch layout for the 2 banks of switches, one below the dials and the other to the left of the steering wheel (Horn and washer switch )
I made up prototypes which are shown below, I think I have finally decided, the layout in the bottom 2 pictures below.

The bottom one won't have the 2 circles missing at each end, I just couldn't be bothered to make a completely new base so I modified an old one and the one above has a switch guard missing due to only having 4. The 2 chrome stubs at the end are small LED lights which I am going to use for interior illumination, I have now managed to find some without the torx recess in the head which should look better than those above.
I then finished of the nearside exhaust, fitted a couple of dome head nuts to the rubber mount and drilled holes in the collector. I will tap some holes in the headers to take some M5 bolts to hold the collector and header together.

Finally I then started on the off side exhaust. Disaster .... the rear header wont fit due to it fouling with my beautifully neat wires attached to the starter motor.
I think I can get around it by extending one of the harnesses which I have some excess coiled up behind the dash. Very annoying and will take some time but not the end of the world.
That will be the first job next time.
