I doesn't feel like over a month since my last post but sadly it is. I have been away for a couple of the weekends but whilst I have been at home I have been doing a few odds and sods.
Firstly the oil leak. I have drained the oil and removed the bolt around which the oil was leaking and back filled the offending bolt hole with sealer.
Everything is back together now with fresh VR1 oil and zinc additive.

I haven't had a chance to run the engine for any length of time since doing this job so I don't know if it has worked.
Next job was to try and quieten down the fuel pump. I removed it from its mountings hoping that the noise was due to resonance through the chassis. No such luck. Despite this, I have insulated the mounting bracket from the chassis and built a cover to try and reduce the noise.....both made no difference and to be honest once the engine starts you can't hear anything anyway.

I have continued to work my way through the wiring gremlins but still have plenty to go. My blown LED in the Richbrook starter button turned out to be a faulty batch. Richbrook sent me a new complete kit which has now been wired in but I have yet to test it. Excellent customer service from a very nice lady called June.
Variable oil pressure sensor has been replaced for a fixed one which now works ...... plus loads of small jobs.
This weekend I have confirmed that he design for the mounting brackets for the billet fog and reverse lamp housing works.

Just need to get them made.....which I am sure wont be cheap.
I managed to get my son to help for the 1st time in ages. He mounted the door hinge escutcheons on the driver side.

He did a good job. Can't do the other side until the door comes back from having the door trims modelled.
I spent today fitting the bonnet gas struts and handles. I have bought some mounting brackets from AK for the underside of the bonnet. Unfortunately they don't fit out of the box so I had to do some mods to the bonnet.

I have also bought some stainless gas struts ....you would expect nothing less. Unfortunately the end fittings were M6 rather than M5 which Dax use so the lower cones needed modifying, all very time consuming.
Can you spot the obvious mistake above. Doh
Handles went on ok .

Progress is always less than I hope for at the start of the day but never the less there has been progress. My new Odyssey battery is on order which will speed the electrical gremlin resolution up, currently I have to keep swapping over the Sunbeam's battery which is a real bind.
